Gentle Monster is a 2026 drama film written and directed by Marie Kreutzer. A co-production of Austria, Germany, and France, it stars Léa Seydoux as Lucy Weiss, a wife who must face her husband's shocking crimes. The film had its world premiere in the main competition of the 79th Cannes Film Festival on 15 May 2026, where it competed for the Palme d'Or. It will be theatrically released in Germany by Alamonde Film on 17 September. It received generally positive reviews, with special praise towards Seydoux's performance.
