The third installment in the Mad Max franchise and the sequel to Mad Max 2 (1981), the film stars Mel Gibson (in his final performance as "Mad Max" Rockatansky) and Tina Turner. Billboard later listed Turner's performance in the film as the 68th best performance of a musician in a box-office film.
