The game allows players to play the roles of historical forms of soldiers and warriors such as Knights, Samurai, Vikings, Wu-lin, and a 5th faction called Outlanders using a third-person perspective. The game was developed primarily by Ubisoft Montreal and released worldwide for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in 2017. For Honor received generally favorable reviews, with the difficult and original combat mechanics being highlighted.
